There’s nothing quite like painting outdoors and on days out with my family, while they’re all playing football or cricket, I’ll be sitting somewhere nearby, sketching something that’s caught my eye. Usually, it’s a particular tree or cloud formation, which can be recorded quickly in my sketchbook using watercolours and a pencil.
When I’m painting at home in the studio I prefer to use acrylics, but tend to use them in thin layers or washes, as I would watercolours.
High quality laser printed copies of my paintings are available to purchase in my Etsy shop. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please do get in touch as I am regularly adding new paintings to my collection.
In 2020, my portrait of Dr Becca Burney, SHO at Rotherham General Hospital, has been selected as one of 790 portraits in the Google Arts and Culture online exhibition campaign “Portraits for NHS Heroes” devised by portrait artist, Tom Croft.
